Bell Ringing for The Salvation Army (Nov.-Dec.)
The Sun City West Kiwanis Club supports The Salvation Army by ringing their Red Kettle bells between Thanksgiving and Christmas in front of Fry’s grocery store in Sun City West. Working in two hour shifts, members cover both doors at Fry’s from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and thanking them for their donation. See’s Candy Sales (Nov.-Dec.)
The Sun City West Kiwanis Club sells a wide variety of See’s Candy between the week before Thanksgiving until Dec. 23 at the Sundome (Safeway) Plaza and other designated locations including several senior residential centers. The Club sells all See’s products at a discounted price, which makes purchasing holiday candy from Kiwanis a great bargain! No more driving to Arrowhead Mall to get holiday chocolates, peanut brittle, mints and other See’s items. All money raised supports the Sun City West Kiwanis Foundation and its community grants program.
Pancake Breakfast (February)
This annual event for the Sun City West Kiwanis Club is held the first Saturday in February at a local church. Breakfast includes eggs, sausage patty, pancakes, juice and coffee for a modest charge. At least one raffle basket is available to win. All money raised supports the Sun City West Kiwanis Foundation and its community grants program. Due to the uncertainties surrounding the coronavirus plus increases in the cost of food, the February 4, 2023 Pancake Breakfast has been cancelled. The Club looks forward to hosting its 2024 Breakfast on February 3rd.
